Q&A with the general manager of Trillium CNG

trillium cng manager bill cashmareck

Earlier this year, Love's became a heavy hitter in the natural gas industry with the acquisition of Trillium CNG. The man selected to lead the newest member of the Love's Family of Companies is Bill Cashmareck. Cashmareck began his Love's career as an intern in 2010. Since then, he's held several positions within Musket and Love's before being named general manager of Trillium CNG.

1. What are your responsibilities as general manager of Trillium CNG?

I oversee all Trillium CNG business functions. We have a business development team that brings in new opportunities, a commercial team that structures those deals, an engineering team that designs our stations, a construction team who builds them, and an operations team who provides support and service after a station is commissioned. I support Trillium's strong leaders and team members to ensure they have the resources and direction needed to grow and serve Customers.

2. What is CNG, and why is Love's investing in it?

Compressed natural gas, or CNG, is an alternative fuel to diesel or gasoline. CNG fuels a variety of vehicles, from compact cars to transit buses. Acquiring Trillium CNG was based on Customer expansion nationwide. We believe it will play a significant role in America's energy future.

3. What is an interesting fact about Trillium CNG?

Trillium CNG has been around for 20 years and is the largest operator of transit CNG stations in the United States.

4. What is the significance of Trillium CNG being awarded a contract with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation?

It's a big deal. The agreement with PennDOT is the largest CNG contract ever awarded in the United States. Trillium will design, build and operate 29 CNG transit stations in Pennsylvania for 20 years. Adding 29 stations is about a 20 percent increase to our national network. We hope other states use this model, so Trillium CNG can expand its network and help reduce the cost of transit facilities across the country while helping the environment.

5. What is your favorite television show and why?

Fresh off the Boat. It's hard to find a good comedy these days.

7. If you were on Lip Sync Battle, what song would you perform?

Shake it Off by Taylor Swift or Just Keep Swimming as heard in Finding Nemo. These are the two most popular songs in the car when you have a young daughter.

8. If you could have dinner with three people, dead or alive, who would you invite?

President Ronald Reagan, Heisman Trophy winner John Cappelletti and Starbucks founder Zev Siegl.
