The first weekend of Dance Marathon season closed in fine Southeastern fashion as the students at Auburn University cut a rug to the tune of more than $424,000.

Wow. That money will help children in need and their families because it benefits Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. Love’s has pledged contributions to 27 Dance Marathon programs in 2016. The Dance Marathon season kicked off the first week of February with events at Tarleton State University, Auburn University and Texas Tech University.

Dance Marathon is a fundraiser organized by students at hundreds of colleges and high schools across the country to benefit kids and families facing pediatric illnesses. Its yearlong fundraising efforts culminate with a 12-40-hour event where students stay on their feet through dancing and games. Dance Marathon has raised more than $106 million since its founding in 1991.
