Musket Corporation Opens New Crude Oil Loading Terminal in Colorado
WINDSOR, Colo., Oct. 5, 2011
Musket Corporation announced today the opening of its newest crude oil and condensate rail loading facility in Windsor, Colorado. This location, in the Great Western Industrial Park, enables Musket to provide solutions for companies needing to move crude oil out of the expanding Niobrara Shale play. Musket’s Windsor Terminal is served by Great Western Railway, which interchanges with Burlington Northern Santa Fe and Union Pacific Railroads. The loading facility will initially operate as a manifest site with a capacity of 8,000-12,000 barrels per day but will soon be unit-train capable with capacity exceeding 30,000 barrels per day.
Musket will also deploy portions of its growing crude truck fleet to the region. The crude trucks will operate as Gemini Transportation.
“We recognize a continued demand to move crude oil efficiently by rail, and now that we are operational in Windsor and have expanded our terminal and trucking network, we have further enhanced our well head-to-end user service capability, said JP Fjeld-Hansen, managing director for Musket.
The Windsor facility is the ninth crude-by-rail facility in Musket’s network. Other terminals are located strategically across the country in North Dakota, Wyoming, Oklahoma, Utah and Texas.
