Since 2010, diesel engine manufacturers have relied on Selective Catalytic Reduction technology (SCR) to reduce nitrous oxide emissions from exhaust gases in response to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Clean Air Act. SCR technology injects DEF, which is composed of 32.5% automotive grade urea and 67.5% de-ionized water, into hot exhaust gas to convert poisonous gases into nitrogen and water.
Musket began producing Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) in 2014 to address increasing market demand, supply redundancy concerns, and logistical optimization opportunities.
