Northeastern State holds its first Dance Marathon

Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, held its first Dance Marathon event on April 16, raising more than $5,600 for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.

Nearly 100 people attended the first-ever Hawkathon, the planning for which began in January with a committee of eight people who are passionate and dedicated to raising money for The Children’s Hospital at Saint Francis in Tulsa. The committee was able to provide six hours of entertainment, food and fun for the participants.

Participants included students from NSU as well as more than 10 Miss America pageant title holders, including the current Miss Oklahoma, Georgia Frazier.
