Don't let the final result fool you: Chris Buescher's day in Fontana at the Auto Club 400 was a step in the right direction. After a start in P16, Buescher finished the day in the #34 Love's Ford in 33rd place.

The Front Row Motorsports team says they had a good car on Sunday, and if it hadn't been for a little bad luck with a bum tire, their finish could have been downright spectacular.

"It's unfortunate we had the flat tire there because we had a lot of speed in our Love's Travel Stops Ford Fusion," Buescher said. "We've made a lot of really big gains in a short period of time. If we hadn't had that happen, we would have been in the Top 20, no doubt, and probably a little bit better than that."

Buescher was quick to show his appreciation for the entire team, telling fans that the best is yet to come.

"It's a bummer that it happened the way it did, but I'm really proud of the guys. We made a huge step in the right direction, and if we have more days with a car like we had today, we will get the finishes," he said.

Jimmie Johnson won the race with Kevin Harvick coming in a close second.

Buescher's next race in the #34 Love's Ford Fusion will be at Texas Motor Speedway on April 9 at the Duck Commander 500. In the meantime, check out these photos from California! We'd love to see your fan photos, too!! Send them to social@loves.com, and you might see them on our social channels.
