Welcome to Heartwell Renewables

The Heartwell Renewables refinery project in Hastings, Nebraska is a project of Love’s to produce and market renewable diesel. It’s the only entity of its kind to both manufacture and distribute this fuel all the way to the retail pump. Cargill will source and provide the feedstock required for fuel production and once the fuel is produced, Musket and Gemini, companies of Love’s, will transport and market the fuel across the United States.

What is renewable diesel?

Renewable diesel is clean-burning alternative renewable fuel that is made from animal fats, vegetable oils, or recycled restaurant grease for use in diesel vehicles or any equipment that operates on diesel fuel. Renewable diesel also can significantly reduce emissions of smog-forming pollutants, as well as various “toxic air contaminants” like diesel particulate matter.
